Free Holiday Photo Booth at Home Ec

Back by popular demand!! This Sunday, during the Christmas Preview in Downtown Chico… The Home Ec FREE Holiday Photo Booth! We had so much fun last year gettin’ fancy for the camera, but this year will be even better. We have new props and (drum roll please) free donut holes from Donut Rising, our favorite local donut shop.

And just like last year, we are going to print up 4×6″ copies of the photo booth shots and you can come pick up yours at our shop after Tuesday! Totally free. See you Sunday! Cheers!

DIY Mod Podge Pumpkins

Hey howdy! Many of our lovely customers have been asking about our fabric pumpkins in the window. So we decided to share this little DIY for our Modge Podge Pumpkins.

Supplies:

Pumpkins
Fabric
Scissors
Mod Podge
Foam Brush

Directions:

Measure pumpkin from stem to underside. Transfer measurement to fabric and cut strips. Strip width will vary depending on the size of your pumpkin. Mine were about 1.5” wide. Also, fabric will form to the pumpkin better if it is cut narrower on top and bottom. See picture.
Paint pumpkin with light layer of Mod Podge. Press on fabric strips, lining up the pattern, if necessary.
Paint another coat of Mod Podge on top of fabric. Continue until entire pumpkin is covered in fabric.

Note:
Fabric with small prints were easier to line up. A big, bold graphic print would look amazing…but it will be much more time consuming.

Frugal House Recap

We had a great time designing a bedroom in the Frugal House. There were so many talented interior designers who volunteered their time and skills to benefit the North State Symphony, not to mention, all the local businesses that donated materials and fixtures, as well as, the electricians and carpenters that helped install it all.

We like to say a special thank you to our sponsors Three Sixty Ecotique, who donated some amazing jewelry and Urban Medspa who donated some amazing products for our vanity.
